Bepin De Eto first in sustainability
28.02.14
Bepin De Eto is the first company in the Conegliano Valdobbiadene DOCG zone to join the Magis sustainable wine production project. An Italian project that is one of the world’s most advanced sustainable viticulture schemes, Magis is also recognised by the Organisation International de la Vigne et du Vin (OIV). Magis (from the Latin for "more", "ever better") stands for precision agriculture that ensures ever-better quality for wine lovers. “To us, Magis is one element of the rich framework we call total quality. A quality that is part and parcel of the principles of sustainability our project is based on, i.e. wine as the fruit of an equilibrium of actions and theory”. So says Ettore Ceschin, who concludes, “To make good wine, our mind and body must be in perfect and respectful symbiosis with our environment”. Magis means respect and constructive dialogue, working to a shared protocol. Magis does not cover just a part of the production chain, but the whole chain step-by-step, providing a concrete standard for sustainability and guaranteeing a path of continuous improvement leading to total quality. Magis also fits in perfectly with the rules of the Conegliano Valdobbiadene DOCG zone, the area where the Bepin De Eto estate is situated. Still and sparkling wines controlled and guaranteed by the Consorzio (wine growers association) and, today, by Magis, too, because our customers deserve only the highest guarantees.
